Paper napkins – Ravens

Ravens hold a special place in Icelandic culture, where nature and folklore intertwine. Intelligent, watchful, and often seen soaring over lava fields or perched on rocky outcrops, ravens have long been considered symbols of wisdom and mystery. In the old Norse belief system, they were sacred to Odin, the god of wisdom and war, who was said to be accompanied by two ravens, Huginn and Muninn. Even today, ravens are respected as clever and resourceful creatures—survivors of Iceland’s harsh conditions and messengers of the wild. Their deep, echoing calls and striking presence continue to inspire awe, poetry, and a deep sense of connection to the land.
